How do I know if I have structural
problems?
Give us a call if you have any of the following:
- Cracks in your slab
- Settlement around foundation
- Rust spots on concrete surfaces
- Cracked or spalling concrete (beams, columns,
decks)
- Signs of Termite Infestation
- Deteriorated wood members

What makes concrete spall (crack and break
away)?
Chloride Ions and water penetrate into concrete causing the reinforcing
steel to rust. As the rust layers build, compressive forces generated
by the expansion of the oxide cause the concrete to crack and delaminate.
When cracking progresses, accelerated corrosion takes place until
spalling or breaking away of the concrete occurs.

What Waterproofing Services do
I need?
New Structures:
Every project needs protection from water intrusion and can best
be protected by the design of a good system at the design stage
of the project. Carr Engineering & Construction, Inc. can analyze
the needs of your project and design the best system for you for
minimal costs. With proper maintenance of the system, water cannot
penetrate your building and this will save the high cost of repairs
later on.
Existing Structures:
Maintenance of the Waterproofing System involves replacement of
joint sealants, deck and wall coatings every 5-10 years. Any sign
of water penetration needs to be addressed promptly to prevent damage.
Carr Engineering & Construction, Inc. will be glad to analyze
your structure and give you a free estimate of your maintenance
and repair needs.
